• Free Marine Flare Collection Events in October 2026 (contracosta.news) — East Richmond Heights residents can safely dispose of expired marine flares for free at the West Contra Costa County Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Richmond from October 14–24, 2026. The event is limited to West Contra Costa residents and boaters, with proof of residency required, and also offers information on safer, reusable electronic distress signal alternatives.
