Dopson Named Deputy Regional Managing Partner of Wilson Elser’s San Francisco Office

National law firm Wilson Elser recently named Genese K. Dopson deputy regional managing partner of the San Francisco office. In this position, Ms. Dopson will collaborate with Regional Managing Partner Ralph Robinson on running the firm’s operations in Northern California.

Ms. Dopson joined Wilson Elser in 2009. She leads the firm’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Device practice, and is a member of the Senior Trial Group, a valuable firm resource called upon to help strategize the handling of high-exposure cases.

“I am thrilled to have such an accomplished attorney assist me in running the San Francisco office,” said Mr. Robinson. “Her experience managing her own firm for several years will contribute to success of this office. She understands how to make responsible decisions that enhance operations fiscally and operationally.”

Ms. Dopson earned an associate’s degree in nursing from El Camino College (1972), launching her into her first career as a nurse. In 1979, she graduated from Mount St. Mary’s College with a Bachelor of Science and then graduated with her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in 1982, shifting her career into law, although practicing in areas that allow her to leverage her background in nursing.

Ms. Dopson is admitted to practice in the Central and Northern Districts of California as wells as in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. She is a member of the California State Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute (DRI).

In 2005, Ms. Dopson was named “Attorney of the Year” by Medmarc Insurance Company.
