County Hazardous Materials Commission Has Openings
Are you concerned about hazardous materials in Contra Costa County? Here's an opportunity to make a difference.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The 13-member Contra Costa County Hazardous Materials Commission has three open seats, and county officials are seeking volunteers to apply for the four-year terms.
Commissioners typically represent industry, labor, civic groups, environmental organizations or the Contra Costa Mayors Conference. The positions currently open include the General Public and General Public Alternate seats, as well as the Environmental Alternate.
Interested parties have to live in Contra Costa County. It also helps to have a demonstrated interest in hazmat issues, an understanding of environmental justice and availability for one or two meetings per month, county officials said.
