Science Educator Tory Brady Coming to Crestmont Summer Camp

Crestmont Summer Camp is honored to host Tory Brady from June 29th until July 2nd for SUPERSCIENCE!, the first week of Crestmont’s six-week summer camp program. During SUPERSCIENCE!, our younger campers will participate in ‘Marvelous Magnets’ – they’ll find iron in sand, cereal and other materials, and they’ll make magnets with nails, bolts and batteries. During ‘Kitchen Chemistry and Beyond,’ older campers will explore acid-base indicators using cabbage juice. They’ll make indicator papers with beans and turmeric, and do some “magic writing.” They’ll also make a battery with aluminum foil and charcoal. Tory Brady retired from the Exploratorium last year, after 20 years of working with middle and high school teachers to develop hands-on science for their classrooms. Now she spends a lot of time hanging with her grandsons, exploring the Sacramento River Delta in a rubber boat, and thinking about how amazing the world is.
