GALT, CA- One very lucky feline was rescued from certain death when an alert load operator made an unusual discovery while sorting through recyclables on a fast-moving conveyor belt.
Tony Miranda told KCRA News he spotted the tiny kitten buried among the debris in a Galt recycling facility on Dec. 15. Miranda snagged the adorable kitten from the rapidly moving line, which feeds into spinning metal blades and a compactor.

No word on how the kitten ended up buried among the recyclables, but workers said the animal likely survived a ride in a dump truck before getting to the plant outside Sacramento.
According to KCRA, employees refer to the facility as the “Murph” and aptly dubbed the kitten “Murphy.” An employee from Cal-Waste Recovery Systems tells Patch Murphy will be in foster care with one of the employees for the time being.
