• A day of music near the beach kicks off weeklong Sessions Surf Festival in Encinitas (timesofsandiego.com) — Encinitas residents can catch the Sessions Surf Festival all week, culminating in three nights of surf films and panel discussions at the historic La Paloma Theatre from Thursday to Saturday. After a kickoff concert at Seaside Reef in Cardiff, the festival continues with free surf contests at Seaside Reef and a surf-art exhibit in Carlsbad, blending local surf culture, music, and film.
