Attempted Kidnapping, Car vs. Bike, and a 'Swift Water Rescue'

These are the raw scanner reports from the San Fernando Valley Friday.

Here are the raw data of reports collected Friday by listening to the police scanner. If there are additional details needed, we'll file full news stories on the items and let you know.

Friday

11:58 a.m. Tujunga Wash, between Colfax Avenue and Vineland Avenue, Studio City

A report of possible “swift water rescue.” A group of people in canoes were spotted traveling in the Tujunga Wash. An LAPD helicopter tracks them, as police and fire units "assist" them out of the river, although they did not seem to be in any distress. The canoers later tell officers they were headed to Long Beach. (Check out the attached video to hear the LAPD discuss this incident on the scanner.)

5:41 p.m. Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Magnolia Boulevard, North Hollywood
Report of a possible kidnapping in progress. A Hispanic male was seen dragging a white female against her will, in the alley behind the Arco gas station.

5:45 p.m. Moorpark Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, Sherman Oaks
Report of a traffic accident involving a “car versus bike.” An ambulance response is requested.

6:00 p.m. 13600 block of Victory Boulevard, Van Nuys
Suspicious person at Little Caesar’s Pizza. Reported to be a white male, 45-50 years old, with a gray beard and wearing a blue sweater with a “heart-shape logo.”

6:25 p.m. Roscoe Boulevard and Balboa Boulevard, North Hills
Report of a misdemeanor hit-and-run. Two females in a gray Toyota are last seen fleeing in an unknown direction on Balboa Boulevard.

6:40 p.m. 6900 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard, Van Nuys
Report of a man assaulting a woman at the Starlight Inn Motel.

7:20 p.m. Oxnard Street and Wilbur Avenue, Tarzana
Report of a stalled vehicle in a flooded area; a potential traffic hazard.

7:28 p.m. 11000 block of Weddington Street, North Hollywood
911 emergency call is an “open line” (the phone did not disconnect,  but the caller is not responding).  Patrol units respond “code 3” (with lights and sirens).

8:26 p.m. Chandler Boulevard and Bellaire Avenue, Sherman Village
Emergency call for an ambulance to a traffic accident.

8:30 p.m. 18100 block of Sherman Way, Reseda
Emergency call from a cell phone. The fire department is trying to determine the physical location of the caller, who did not give an accurate address, and is now not answering the phone.

8:52 p.m. 6800 block of Balboa Boulevard, Lake Balboa
Fire department is called to investigate the possible flooding at the location.

9:30 p.m. Lankershim Boulevard, then westbound on Strathern Street, North Hollywood
Report of a reckless driver in a Ford Mustang.

9:55 p.m. Devonshire Street and Woodley Avenue, Granada Hills
Report of a reckless driver, speeding and driving erratically. The vehicle has a “gorilla license plate.”

10:00 p.m. Eastbound 101 Freeway and Winnetka Avenue, Warner Center
Rescue 84, Task Force 93, and Battalion 5 are called to respond to a traffic accident on the freeway.

10:12 p.m. Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard, Warner Center
911 call for an ambulance to respond to a traffic accident at the intersection.

10:23 p.m. Northbound 405 Freeway, south of the 101 Freeway, Sherman Oaks
LAFD is called to two different traffic accidents on that stretch of the 405 Freeway. Engine 109 and Engine 99 responds.

10:42 p.m.
4700 Colfax Avenue, Studio City
911 call for an overdose.

10:42 p.m. 4700 block of Willis Avenue, Sherman Oaks
LAFD is called to help people stuck in elevator.

10:47 p.m. 5900 block of Reseda Boulevard, Tarzana
An LAFD rescue ambulance is called to a seizure.
