• Fairfax sales tax measure on track for approval (marinij.com) — Fairfax voters appear poised to approve Measure J, which would permanently raise the local sales tax rate from 0.75% to 1% and avert a projected revenue shortfall. The measure is expected to generate about $1.3 million annually for the town’s general fund, with supporters citing protection of public safety services and opponents objecting to the lack of a sunset clause and timing of the vote.
