American Red Cross "Tea Affaire"

American Red Cross Fourth Annual “Tea Affaire”

The American Red Cross, Capital Region Chapter, will hold its Fourth Annual “Tea Affaire” on Saturday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m.  The annual “Tea Affaire” celebrates the time, talent and treasure of women who commit themselves in many ways to benefit others and, in particular, to those who are dedicated to the work of their local American Red Cross.  Funds raised by the event support the important work of the Capital Region Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Previous “Tea Affaire” events have been held at beautiful homes in the region.  This year is no exception, as the event will be held at the home of Drs. Janak and Nahni Mehtani, the former “new” Governor’s Mansion, in Carmichael.  The latest Jones New York fashions will be modeled during the Tea.  Attendees are encouraged to participate in the event’s annual hat competition.  A pre-event to assemble an award-worthy hat will be held on Sunday, April 17 at 1:00 at American Red Cross headquarters, 1565 Exposition Boulevard, Sacramento.  Berkeley Hat Company will have hats for sale; participants bring decorations.

The “Tea Affaire” is organized by chapter volunteers of the Legacy Circle Society and Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders.  The Legacy Circle honors people who have the foresight to remember those served by local Red Cross chapters in their estate plan.  The Tiffany Circle is a society of women leaders and philanthropists across the nation who make annual financial donations, and form a leadership network, to strengthen the local chapters of the American Red Cross.
