Kite Flying Day and Picnic

The HMS Pinafore Ship invites all Carmichael Presbyterian Church (CPC) members, relatives, neighbors and friends to our 12th annual spring picnic and kite-flying day. This inter-generational and inter-service fellowship gives us all an opportunity to pause in our busy schedules and do what God intends us to do - go fly a kite.

The picnic and kite flying begin as soon as the car door opens and just before the adults are ready (anytime after 12:30 pm). You may buy a kite from the HMS Pinafore Ship on April 29 and decorate it ($3-$4 for 3 different kites), OR you may design, build and decorate your own kite, OR you may purchase a beautiful, magnificent store kite.

Every kite-flying child and wonderful child-like adult will receive a congratulation ribbon and the emphasis will be on the fun of participation rather than the final product. It is the Pinafores continued hope that the participants will have a great time bonding in this endeavor.

There is a $5 park entrance fee, so you might want to carpool with another family...or...bring some non-CPC friends as a church outreach. (What an idea!)

The HMS Pinafore "For-Better-Health Club" recommends a minimum of 1 day of kite flying per year for all adults over the age of 5 years.  Little wind and poorly constructed kites will enhance your excercise.
