E2open cuts deal to send cloud-based technology to China.

A Foster City-based technology company struck a deal that it says will greatly expand its reach into Asia’s emerging markets.

E2open, a leading cloud-based supply-chain management technology developer, announced on Monday that it has partnered with Shanghai Future Information Technologies.

E2open recently received approval from the Chinese government for a license as a wholly-owned foreign enterprise.

The company has also partnered with Camelot Information Systems, which will provide local support and professional services to meet anticipated demand growth.

E2open’s customers include Cisco Systems, Dell, IBM, Motorola, Panasonic, Research In Motion, Seagate Technology and Vodafone.

"We are excited about this strategic new partnership, and look forward to working together to realize the extraordinary potential in the (Chinese) marketplace," Woodward said in a prepared statement.

"Companies around the world view China as a critical link in their overall supply chain strategies, and more recently as a critical growth market for their products.

“Over 40 percent of the partners in the E2open Business Network are based in the Asia-Pacific, so we are well positioned to continue our expansion in this region. We look forward to growing our business and bringing innovation to the supply chain landscape in China with our collaborative cloud-based technologies."
