Hit-And-Run Driver Caught After Injuring Teen Bicyclist In Peninsula Crash: Police
The driver was arrested on a felony charge, police said.
FOSTER CITY, CA — Police have arrested a suspect in a felony hit-and-run collision that injured a 15-year-old bicyclist, authorities said.
Officers with the Foster City Police Department responded about 6:20 p.m. Feb. 20 to the area of Shell Boulevard near Bounty Drive for a report of a crash involving a vehicle and an electric bicycle, police said.
When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old boy who had been struck while riding the bicycle. The driver fled the scene before police arrived, according to Foster City PD.

The teen was treated at the scene by the San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department and American Medical Response before being taken to a hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, officers said they located a vehicle believed to be involved in the crash at a nearby apartment complex. Detectives gathered physical evidence, reviewed license plate reader data, and obtained search warrants for electronic records before identifying the suspect, police said.

Police said the suspect was arrested and the case has been submitted to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office for suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury.
