Two-Alarm Foster City Fire Displaces Condo Complex Residents
Fire officials say the fire broke out Thursday afternoon.

FOSTER CITY, CA- Firefighters extinguished a two-alarm residential structure fire that started Thursday afternoon at a condominium complex in Foster City.
Emergency crews responded to an address in the 700 block of Sea Spray Lane near Hillside Boulevard at 4:50 p.m. on report of a fire.
On scene, they found smoke coming from the Hillside Boulevard side of the 42-unit building. Firefighters determined that the fire had spread to the top floor's attic through the walls, then spread horizontally into the space above two additional units.

The fire took roughly 40 minutes to extinguish, but crews spent several hours overhauling the structure and removing water.
No injuries were reported, but all the residents were displaced and several condos will need significant repairs.

Investigators determined the fire was caused by plumbing work in the unit of origin, and was accidental in nature.
