Administrators and a Fountain Valley School District trustee say the policy is boosting focus and face‑to‑face interaction, though some students want more flexibility, especially for listening to music while working. Consistent enforcement and parent contact back up the new rules.
   

• Flag football Recap: Newport Harbor Adds Another Dominant Win to Their Ledger (maxpreps.com) — Newport Harbor's flag football team, which logged a 39-point win over Fountain Valley on September 9, just added another dominant 38-7 victory over Corona del Mar. The Sailors' explosive offense and aggressive defense have powered a 19-4 season and a strong home record, and they now head into a tough road matchup against Huntington Beach's stingy defense.
