10 Mile Road Construction Project: Fremont Boulevard Corridor

Construction will begin early next year.

FREMONT, CA — Expect big changes on Fremont Boulevard next year.

The Fremont Boulevard Safe and Smart Corridor Project will begin in early 2020.

The goal of the project is to manage congestion and improve safety for all travelers — including drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians. The project will cover an astounding 10-mile stretch of Fremont Boulevard between Paseo Padre Parkway and Cushing Parkway.

Drivers will appreciate the traffic signal modernization component of the plan, which includes smart sensors to streamline traffic flow, ensure adequate intersection crossing times, and prioritize signals for transit and emergency vehicles.

Funding for the work is coming from Measure BB, approved by Alameda County voters in 2014, and administered by the Alameda County Transportation Commission.
