2 Acre Fire Quickly Contained In Fremont

FREMONT, CA — A two acre brush fire was quickly doused by firefighters in Fremont early Monday morning.

The fire was along southboud I-680 near Vargas Road, and was dubbed the #VargasFire. It was first reported at 12:21 a.m., according to PulsePoint.

The Fremont Fire Department reports that no structures were threatened. Fremont firefighters were assisted by Cal Fire, according to FFD.

The two right lanes were closed for a short time to allow firefighters to do their job.
