4 Juveniles Arrested In 2 Fremont Armed Carjacking Cases
Two suspects were armed with a handgun, while the other two suspects were armed with a BB gun.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont officers arrested four juveniles near two schools in the city this week in connection with a failed carjacking and a successful one, according to police.
Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, officers were alerted to a report of an attempted armed carjacking near an elementary school in the area of Sundale Drive and Wall Common, Fremont police said in a news release.
The suspects were unsuccessful in taking the victim's vehicle and fled on foot into a nearby apartment complex. The victim was able to provide descriptions of both suspects. Officers searched the area and found both suspects in the apartment complex, police said.

Both suspects were found to be juveniles and were taken into custody without incident. A BB gun was found on one of the suspects. Due to the attempted carjacking, the nearby Brier Elementary School had to initiate "shelter in place" protocols, according to police.
Officers were also alerted by community cameras to a carjacked vehicle in the area of Grimmer Boulevard and Auto Mall Parkway. According to police, the vehicle was taken during an armed carjacking Monday at the Gateway Plaza shopping center.

Police said two suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, took the vehicle from a victim and fled the area.
Officers found the carjacked vehicle in the area of Sundale Drive and Hilo Street and tried to pull over the vehicle but its driver fled, resulting in a brief car chase. During the pursuit, a passenger exited the carjacked vehicle.
The chase ended in the parking lot of an elementary school in the 5000 block of Valpey Park Avenue. According to police, two suspects immediately exited the vehicle and tried to escape but were taken into custody.
Both suspects were also juveniles, according to police. During the arrest, classes were taking place in the nearby Millard Elementary School, which had to also initiate "shelter in place" protocols.
The four arrested juveniles were transported to Alameda County juvenile hall, police said.
