Alameda County Coronavirus: 45 Deaths; 1,282 Cases
New cases and deaths continue to be reported in Alameda County.
ALAMEDA COUNTY — Alameda County reports that the number of deaths from coronavirus have risen to 45, while the number of laboratory confirmed cases is now 1,282.
Those numbers are up since the beginning of the week, when 43 deaths were reported, and 1,239 cases were confirmed.
The official Alameda County Department of Public Health website has not updated since April 20, but statistics are still being reported through official channels.

Looking beyond our local area, at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, Johns Hopkins University reports that 39,010 cases have been confirmed in California, while there have been 1,514 deaths. In Los Angeles County, where almost 800 have died, coronavirus is now the leading cause of death.

The United States reports 864,415 cases, and 47,272 deaths.
Around the world, the number of confirmed cases is now 2,699,338, while the death toll is 188,437.
