Armed Home Invasion: Criminals Target Fremont Grow House
Two men - one armed with a gun and the other with a baseball bat - terrorized two women.

FREMONT, CA — A shot was fired and a woman was battered during a home invasion robbery in Fremont just after midnight on Wednesday. No arrests have been made. There are two suspects on the run.
Fremont Police report that Dispatchers received multiple calls about a woman banging on doors and screaming for help in the 43300 block of Montrose Avenue at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday. Callers also reported hearing a single gunshot.
Police officers arrived at the scene within two minutes of the initial call. Police report that they found, "Two female residents were in their residence when a noise was heard in the backyard. Believing the noise was from her dog, one of the females got up to let it out the back door. When she opened the door, she was confronted by two male suspects wearing dark-hooded clothing. One suspect was armed with a handgun and the other a baseball bat."

One of the women tried to go out the back door to get her dog, but was battered by the suspects. The other woman fled through a different route and sought help from neighbors. That's when the gunshot rang out. Officers later found a single bullet hole in a vehicle parked across the street.

Even though they arrived within two minutes, police did not see the suspects, and no getaway vehicle was seen. The suspects are described as two men of Asian or Vietnamese descent. No surveillance photos have been released.
The injured woman was transported to the hospital. She was treated for her injuries and later released.
Police obtained a search warrant for the home. Inside they found 300-400 marijuana plants filling three bedrooms.

Fremont Police Crimes Against Persons Detectives and Agents from the Southern Alameda County Major Crimes Task Force were called out during the night to take the lead on the investigation. Crime scene investigators collected evidence at the scene.
