Buffalo Roam In Fremont: Photos Of The Day
Patch loves photos! Share your photos with Patch and your work could be featured.
FREMONT, CA — "Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam, and the deer and the antelope play." Be honest, were you singing along with that line?
We've had photos of all kinds of wildlife submitted to Patch from around the East Bay, but this is the first time we've had buffalo.
John Harms took these snaps earlier this month. He tells Patch, "I saw these buffalo in the field at the top of Vargas Road near Vargas Plateau Park. They were about 50 feet away and kept slowly moving my way."

So cool! If your kids have never seen buffalo before, it might be worth a drive this weekend to check them out.
Vargas Plateau Regional Park is part of the East Bay Regional Park District. According to the park's website, "There are more than six miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails. This is a prime location for birdwatching, especially raptor viewing, and the ridgetops offer panoramic views westward towards San Francisco Bay."
