CHP Officer Charged With Unlawful Sex With Minor
Fremont resident Brian Watkins, 34, faces three felony counts.

FREMONT, CA — A California Highway Patrol officer, 34-year-old Brian Watkins of Fremont, has been arrested and faces several charges related to unlawful sex with a minor. He was arrested last Thursday, and felony charges were filed by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office on Monday.
Fremont Police began investigating Watkins last July when it received information that he was having a sexual relationship with a girl that began when she was 16-years-old. Police said on Monday that the sexual activity continued after Watkins learned he was being investigated, and did not take place as he was working as a peace officer.
The CHP was informed of the investigation, and cooperated with the Fremont Police investigation, according to FPD.
