A photographer got more than he bargained for when photographing a cyclist.

FREMONT, CA — Gregory J. Brown photographed a large coyote at Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area, near the Willow Slough pond, mid-afternoon on July 30. He tells Patch, "At the very moment I was photographing (only) the recumbent cyclist this large coyote jumped up out of hiding from the bushes. My intent was only to photograph the recumbent rider when the animal suddenly appeared!"

The chance encounter produced a great photo! Thank you for sharing, Gregory.

If you have an awesome photo of nature, breath-taking scenery, kids caught being kids, a pet doing something funny, or something unusual you happen to catch with your camera, we'd love to feature it on Patch.
