Deadly Morning Crash on Highway 680 in Fremont

At least one person died in a solo-vehicle crash off of Interstate Highway 680 in Fremont this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded shortly before 10 a.m. to a report of a gold sedan that had crashed near the off-ramp from northbound Highway 680 to Vargas Road, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene, Anderson said. He said he didn’t know if any other people were in the car at the time. No lanes appear to be blocked, he said.
