Final List Of 2023 Fremont National Merit Scholarship Winners

These students will receive between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate work.

FREMONT, CA — The final list of National Merit Scholarship winners for 2023 was announced this month, with five Fremont students awarded scholarships.

They are among approximately 750 additional winners of scholarships nationwide financed by colleges and universities. These Merit Scholar designees join more than 3,000 other college-sponsored award recipients who were announced in June.

Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among
the Finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program who will attend their institution.

According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, these college-sponsored awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.

This year, 153 colleges and universities are sponsoring over 3,800 Merit Scholarship
awards.

This final group of winners brings the number of 2023 National Merit Scholars to more than 7,140 worth a total of nearly $28 million. In addition to college-sponsored awards, two other types of National Merit Scholarships were offered—2,500 National Merit $2500 Scholarships, for which all Finalists competed, and about 840 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards for Finalists who met criteria specified by their grantor organizations.

Here is a list of the newest Fremont scholarship winners:

  • Aditya Gupta: Probable career field: Economics; American High School; Gupta will attend Northeastern University.
  • Ayushi Kashyap: Probable career field: Computer Science; Mission San Jose High School; Kashyap will attend Harvey Mudd College.
  • Aarya P. Morgaonkar: Probable career field: Medical Research; Irvington High School; Morgaonkar will attend Vanderbilt University.
  • Zhaorong Tu: Probable career field: Computer Science; American High School; Tu will attend Purdue University.
  • Bryan Xiong: Probable career field: Computer Science; Mission San Jose High School; Xiong will attend the University of Maryland.
