Free Grocery Giveaway In San Leandro Friday

SAN LEANDRO, CA — If you are struggling to put food on the table, the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Alameda County is continuing its weekly giveaway of free groceries, no questions asked.

The giveaway is from 1 to 3 p.m. every Friday, at Dig Deep Farms, 2700 Fairmont Drive in San Leandro.

Because of coronavirus, the food distribution is no-contact. Just join the dive-thru line, pop your trunk at the head of the line and the groceries will be placed in your trunk.

The food boxes include fresh produce and dairy.

Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 54 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
