Fremont Police Investigate Homicide

The shooting death happened at an apartment complex Wednesday night.

FREMONT, CA — One man was shot to death in Fremont Wednesday night. The victim's name has not been released, and no arrests have been announced.

Police received several calls shortly before 10:30 p.m. of gunshots at the Mosaic Apartment Complex, in the 39800 block of Fremont Boulevard.

The victim was found in the parking lot of the complex.

"Officers set up a perimeter and a SWAT callout was initiated to provide additional resources during the initial hours of the investigation," police said in a written release. "Outside partnering agencies assisted FPD by providing UAV and K9 support. A thorough search was conducted during the night and investigators remain on scene this morning."

Police did not initially say if the homicide is related to two shootings last week.
