Fremont Police Investigating Man Found Dead, Not Considered Suspicious
Police said Walnut Avenue would be closed between California Street and Fremont Boulevard until around 8 p.m.

Officers found a man dead this afternoon in Fremont but said the death is not considered suspicious, Fremont police said. Police and fire personnel responded around 3:30 p.m. to a report of a man down on Walnut Avenue between California Street and Fremont Boulevard, according to police.
Authorities arrived and declared the man deceased at the scene, police said. Police and investigators from the Alameda County coroner’s bureau are working to determine the cause of the man’s death, but Fremont police Sgt. Ricardo Cortes said it does not appear suspicious.
“We’ll obviously be very thorough but it doesn’t look like there’s any public safety issue at this point,” Cortes said.
