UPDATE: Suspect Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting After Allegedly Brandishing Knife
A call of a person with a knife came in about 2 p.m. to the department.

Update:
An adult male who reportedly had been brandishing a knife was killed in a confrontation with police in Fremont this afternoon, police said. Three Fremont officers were dispatched to Lake Arrowhead Avenue near Sylvester Harvey Park at about 2:15 p.m. today after police received a report of a man who was brandishing a knife at juveniles, authorities said.
Police said that after officers located the suspect, who was armed, one officer fired a Taser stun gun at the suspect and a second officer fired a service weapon at the suspect. The suspect, who has not yet been positively identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Fremont police weren’t immediately available for comment on why the officers fired at the suspect. None of the involved officers were injured, nor were any residents who live in the area, according to police.

“We believe he was in the neighborhood and other individuals may have encountered him, not necessarily with the knife,” said police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.
