Intoxicated Man Drops Knife When He Tries to Stab Victim: Fremont Police

Apparently too drunk to commit a crime, according to police, the suspect ended up needing medical treatment before a trip to jail.

FREMONT, CA - An intoxicated suspect with a knife allegedly forced his way into an apartment in Fremont and tried to stab someone Tuesday night, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of two men fighting, one of whom had a knife, in the 4200 block of Bay Street at 9:39 p.m. Investigators determined that the suspect, identified only as a 43-year-old man, went to the apartment to confront the residents then pushed his way through the door with his knife.

He was intoxicated and tried to stab one of the residents, but dropped the knife in the process, police said. The suspect was injured, requiring medical treatment before he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and criminal threats, according to police.
