Man Arrested For Battery On Fremont Police Officer
The man was placed in a velcro-type body restraint and transported to the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.

FREMONT, CA — A 33-year-old San Jose man has been arrested for suspicion of battery on a peace officer and other charges for allegedly attacking an officer on Wednesday, police said.
A Fremont officer conducted a pedestrian stop on the San Jose man in the 2600 block of Mowry Ave on Wednesday for a violation of a vehicle code, according to police. When the officer questioned the man he spontaneously admitted to be in possession of and under the influence of methamphetamine, police said.
Officers observed the symptoms of the man being under the influence and located a small plastic bag containing 2.3 grams of methamphetamine on the man, according to police.

Officers took the man to a local hospital to be medically cleared but while he was there he battered one of the officers, police said.

In addition to battery on a peace officer, the man is being held on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
