Man Thrown From Hood of Car, Knocked Unconscious

Police are seeking the driver of the car, missing since the Monday evening situation in Fremont.

FREMONT, CA - A man who tried to stop a car by jumping on the hood Monday evening was knocked unconscious when the driver hit her brakes, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to a possible crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Maple Street at 7:36 p.m. A vehicle had been seen fleeing the area and a victim was laying in the street, according to police.

When officers arrived the victim was being treated by firefighters, and witnesses informed them that he had been riding the hood of the vehicle for an unknown reason.

They determined that he'd jumped on the hood while trying to stop the driver from leaving the area. She hit her brakes, the victim was thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious. He could not remember what happened, however, according to police.

The victim was transported to a hospital for medical attention.

The driver was described as a black woman in her early 20s at the wheel of an older maroon Toyota Tercel.
