Measure BB on the November 4 Ballot in Alameda County for Essential Transportation Improvements

Measure BB includes funding for Irvington BART Station and Warm Springs/South Fremont BART Station West Side Access Improvements

Measure BB will implement the 2014 Transportation Expenditure Plan, which was developed by the Alameda County Transportation Commission, with guidance from a wide variety of stakeholders including business, technical experts, environmental and social justice organizations and seniors and people with disabilities. The 30-year Plan will generate almost $8 billion for transportation improvements in every city in Alameda County, yielding $20 billion in economic activity for the Bay Area and nearly 150,000 jobs.

The Plan will
• Improve and expand BART throughout Alameda County
• Modernize and improve access to BART stations
• Keep transit fares affordable for seniors and people with disabilities
• Increase reliable bus service
• Provide an affordable student transit pass
• Expand safe walking and biking paths
• Repair streets and reduce traffic
• Create good quality local jobs

Measure BB, which will extend and augment the existing ½ cent transportation sales tax, Measure B, was supported by 81.5% of voters in 2000. Measure B has been a significant source of funding for improvements for bus, BART, senior and paratransit, traffic improvement on local streets and roads as well as highways.
