Peaceful Quarry Lakes: Photo Of The Day
This lovely sunset was photographed last Friday.

FREMONT, CA — C Imura captured this captivating sunset last Friday evening at Quarry Lakes. Do you know the history of this park? Gravel mined from the quarries in the 1800s was used to build the transcontinental railroad. If you've ridden the Niles Canyon Railway, you know that it is a segment of the transcontinental railroad.
If you would like to visit Quarry Lakes Regional Park after the coronavirus health order is lifted, they offer boating, fishing, hiking, biking and swimming. For now, feel free to stroll around the area while maintaining social distancing.
Thank you for sharing this lovely photo!
