Transient Arrested In BART Stabbing Case
BART Police had released photos of the suspect from its surveillance system.
FREMONT, CA — A 21-year-old transient was arrested Thursday night in connection with a stabbing of another homeless man outside the Warm Springs BART station in Fremont earlier the same day, BART officials said.
Joshua Fecker was taken into custody by BART police at the Richmond station after officers recognized him from the Fremont station's surveillance video. Officers interviewed Fecker and determined he was the
suspect in the knife attack.
Police had received a call at 2:18 a.m. Thursday about a man lying in the street near the Warm Springs station. The man was discovered to be a 39-year-old transient with non-life-threatening stab wounds to his chest and buttocks. He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose where he was treated.

The stabbing occurred outside the station, but was still on BART property, BART officials said. The station was closed at the time.
