Police Issue Warning About SUV Privacy Screens
Got nothing to hide? Potential thieves don't know that.

FREMONT, CA — If you have a privacy screen to cover the cargo area in the back of your SUV or crossover, you may want to leave it open. The Fremont Police Department is reporting that potential thieves are busting windows to see what is beneath the screens.
In a Facebook post earlier this month, the department reported "an uptick in auto burglary and vandalism incidents involving SUV’s with privacy screens...In most cases there is no reported loss of property, but the damage to the vehicle (and costs) can be significant."
The department shared photos taken near Mission Peak and in a residential driveway, including the one above, that show damaged vehicles.
