Search for Armed Suspect Closes Down I-880 in Fremont Thursday Night
Police were not able to find the suspect.

All lanes of Interstate Highway 880 have reopened in Fremont after a shutdown triggered by a police search for a suspect in a violent crime. Fremont police and the California Highway Patrol closed the freeway ¼ mile south and ¼ mile north of Mowry Avenue in both directions shortly after 8 p.m.
The suspect, who was thought to be hiding in bushes along the freeway, is described as a black male adult, 20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 155 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Anyone who believes they have seen the suspect should call 911 immediately and not approach him, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
