Street Closures Sunday For Niles Antique Fair & Flea Market

Fremont Police have released a list of streets that will be closed, and when the closures will be in effect.

FREMONT, CA — If you're an antique and collectibles fan, the Annual Niles Antique Fair & Flea Market is a highly anticipated annual event. It will be held this Sunday, August 25.

The Fremont Police Department advises residents and visitors alike that there will be street closures to accommodate the market.

The following roads will be CLOSED on Sunday, August 25 from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • Niles Blvd. between J Street and G Street
  • Iron Horse Lane between F Street and J Street
  • G Street, H Street, and I Street from Niles Blvd. to Second street
  • F Street will be no parking from Niles Blvd. to Third Street
  • J Street will be open for traffic but all parking in that block will be designated as handicapped parking

Police officers will monitor and enforce parking complaints. Vehicles parked in front of driveways, fire hydrants and handicap accessible ramps will be cited and possibly towed.

Following the shooting at this year's Gilroy Garlic Festival, some residents may be nervous about attending public events. The police department recommends "that community members remain aware of their surroundings and report suspicious activity by calling our non-emergency number at 790-6800 and selecting option 3 or by dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency. 'If you see something, say something.' You can also text-a-tip by texting: Tip FremontPD followed by your message to 888777. The Police Department will utilize Nixle and Twitter during the event to send out notifications and/or alerts if necessary. To follow the department on Nixle, simply text one of Fremont’s zip codes to 888-777."
