Fire Contained At Chevron In Gilroy
The fire began in back room at station on Monterey Street.

Firefighters quickly extinguished a two-alarm fire in the storage room of a Gilroy gas station this morning, a fire division chief said.
Around 10:45 a.m., the city’s communications center received a report of a fire at a Chevron gas station at 7000 Monterey St., Gilroy fire division Chief Mary Gutierrez said. Firefighters arrived to the station and extinguished the blaze by about 11 a.m. with no injuries reported, Gutierrez said.
It appears the fire started in the back storage room, which sustained moderate damage, but did not extend into the main section of the store, where two employees were working, Gutierrez said.
