Get Out in Gilroy

It's Thursday, and the weekend is approaching. Spring is approaching—we know that because on Saturday night, we get to "spring forward" and set our clocks ahead. So we'll lose an hour, but we will still want to find things to do for the weekend!

Patch has done some research for you. Here are our suggestions for some of the coolest things to do in and around Gilroy this weekend. So go ahead and "Get Out!"

Where/When: Mission Powder Coating, 7238 Alexander St. Thursday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Why Go:  Network. Socialize. Have fun. What more can you ask for?

Where/When: Fortino Winery, 4525 Hecker Pass Highway. Friday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Ladies, have a fun night out with the other ladies at Fortino Winer. It's always nice to hang out just with girlfriends. You'll get two drink tickets, appetizers and music. And time with your friends and the chance to make new ones!

Pricing: $15 for wine club members; $25 for nonmembers

Where/When , 7400 Monterey St. Friday, Saturday, 8-10 p.m. 

Why Go: Now, this should definitely be a laugh—nine short, one acts related to the comedy of airline travel. And who can't relate to airline travel stories. 

Pricing: $18

Where/When: 10840 Coyote Lake Rd. (Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch). Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Why Go: A nice long hike through some spectacular scenery. Ten miles worth of hiking and looking. You'll feel good while you're doing it and you'll feel good afterward, because you did what is described as a moderately challenging hike.

Where/When: 55 Fifth St. Thursday, 8 p.m. to midnight

Why go: Have fun with your friends in a one-of-a-kind Gilroy establishment. Start off the weekend a day early with a night of karaoke.
