Get Out in Gilroy

Two school fundraisers, a wildflower walk, a flamenco show and a flower and garden show are just some of your choices in and around Gilroy this weekend. So go ahead and Get Out!

Where/When: Gilroy Elks Lodge, 2765 Hecker Pass Rd., Gilroy, Saturday, 5-10 p.m.

Why Go: To support Pacific West Christian Academy.  Auction, dinner and dance. All proceeds go for student enrichment programs including technology, art, music, library, field trips, scholarships and sports.

Pricing: $55 per person, $400 table of eight

Where/When: Eagle Ridge Country Club, 2951 Club Drive, Saturday, 6-10 p.m.

Why Go: This is the school's biggest fundraiser, and the evening includes dinner and a silent and live auction. It will be a great evening for a great cause.

Where/When: , 7400 Monterey St., Sunday, 7-8:30 p.m.

Why Go: The last Sunday of the month is special here. It's a chance to watch professional flamenco dance and hear the accompanying music. It's something that is not readily available here, so take advantage.

Pricing: $15 and can be purchased in advance. 

Where/When: 9000 E. Dunne Ave., Morgan Hill (Henry W. Coe State Park), Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: A wildflower walk in the woods. What could be better for a lazy Sunday? And the staff will guide you along, so you will learn something about what you see. The outings are easy and good for all ages and all fitness levels.

Where/When: 1346 Saratoga Dr., San Mateo, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Why Go: To see the largest flower and plant festival on the West Coast. There's plenty going on, garden installations, celebrity chef demos, a marketplace with hundreds of green-friendly shops—and kid friendly, too! Plenty to do all day and every day.
