Soberanes Fire Day 20: Containment Holding Steady At 50%

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA – The Soberanes Fire burning north of Big Sur has expanded from 67,092 acres on Tuesday to 68,698 acres today, with containment holding steady at 50 percent, Cal Fire officials said.
The blaze began July 22 with an illegal campfire at Garrapata State Park and investigators are looking to speak with anyone who saw something in the area, the agency said.
There currently are 4,855 firefighters working to extinguish the blaze, and full containment is estimated by the end of the month, Cal Fire officials said.

Those wishing to donate, there is a Donation Collection Center at Big Sur State Park Multi-Agency Building, 47555 HWY 1 Big Sur CA 93920.
