Geyserville Woman Arrested For Allegedly Lighting 13 Small Fires In Sonoma County
She reportedly told deputies she was left in remote area by a boyfriend and was trying to signal for help, but, nevertheless, was arrested.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – Sonoma County sheriff's deputies arrested a Geyserville woman Tuesday on suspicion of lighting 13 small fires in a remote area of northern Sonoma County.
Maria Acevedo, 26, of Geyserville, claimed her boyfriend dropped her off in the Skaggs Springs Road area of Geyserville so she lit the fires to attract help, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said.
The spot fires along the road that meanders west to the Sonoma Coast encompassed 2 acres, Crum said. Deputies were called to the area around 9 p.m. Tuesday to assist a Cal Fire battalion chief who had detained Acevedo.

A nearby property owner stopped Acevedo from lighting another fire, and she asked Acevedo to put it out while she called for help, Crum said.
The Cal Fire battalion chief extinguished all of the fires, and Acevedo was arrested on suspicion of arson, being a felon in possession of ammunition that was found in her purse and on an outstanding warrant for a
drug charge, Crum said.
