Early-Morning Outage Puts Thousands In Darkness

Power was quickly restored after outages on two different circuits left thousands without power, Edison officials said Thursday.

The first outage was reported at 2:32 a.m., affecting 1,827 customers. One minute later, a second outage occurred, affecting 1,826 customers, said a representative from Southern California Edison.

3,653 total were without electricity.

Power on the first circuit was restored by 4:04 a.m., with power being restored to the second circuit by 4:54 a.m., Edison said.

Equipment failures were the causes in both cases, Edison said.

The boundaries for the outages were:
1st Outage
North - Rose Drive
South - Citrus Edge Street
East - Loraine Ave
West - Grand Avenue

2nd Outage
North - Clover View Drive
South - Citrus Edge Street
East - Ramuda Drive
West - Wildwood Avenue
