Watch the world's largest waves (in cold water) as they crash into the rocky surf near Pillar Point in Half Moon Bay. Waves so large that each can be measured on the earthquake sensors at UC Berkeley! Nature and sports photographers, and of course surfing fans can see each wave from only yards away.

Individuals and groups are welcome to join an open load boat, or reserve a private charter boat for a company party or corporate team-building event. We are also able to provide "mother ship" services if you want to have your own invitational competition or private contest with your buddies or coworkers! Space is available on a first-come first-served basis from now through the end of the big wave surfing season.

Victory: Tales of a Tuskegee Airman

Saturday @ 1 p.m. in Redwood City

Local hero Captain Leslie "Les" Williams, an original Tuskegee Airman, speaks as part of The Courthouse Docket, a monthly series of lectures and performances held in the History Museum's Courtroom A.

Tuskegee Airmen is the term used to describe the black fighter pilots of the 99th Pursuit Squadron, later incorporated into the 332nd Fighter Group, who fought during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps.  They were trained at Tuskegee Army Air Field, Tuskegee, Alabama.  At twenty-two years old, Mr. Williams was drafted into the Army and enrolled in the Tuskegee Institute.  There, he became part of an elite group of black men whose mission was to prove that they could excel as combat pilots.
