San Mateo County's Health System shut down the food court at the Costco in Redwood City for having food contact surfaces left unclean and unsanitized. They were also cited with lacking in hot and/or cold water.
When businesses fail to correct major violations of the California Retail Food Code (CalCode) they are closed.

Costco could not be reached for comment at press time. It's unknown when the food court may reopen. Redwood City's Costco Wholesale is located at 2300 Middlefield Road.
