Ocean Shore Now Hassett Ace Hardware
Half Moon Bay's hardware store rebrands itself to honor family history by using the Hassett name.
Half Moon Bay's beloved hardware store, Ocean Shore Hardware, is changing its name.
The third-generation family-owned store, with history dating back to 1905, is rebranding itself as Hassett Ace Hardware. Eventually, the wooden sign out front on Main Street will reflect the new name. The big lighted Ace sign on the building will stay the same, and the recently commissioned custom mural by Brendan Foster that's hanging inside the store with the Ocean Shore name will become a nostaglic reminder of what the store was once called.

Palo Alto Ace Hardware, Willow Glen Ace, and Wisnom’s Ace in San Mateo, all part of the Hassett Ace Hardware family of stores, will also make the name change.
“We think it’s time to honor our family hardware history by using the Hassett name as a beacon to our customers of the great service offered at all Hassett Ace Hardware stores,” said co-owners Eric and Richard Hassett. “Our stores are the same great places, just with a new name. We remain dedicated to our mission of providing the best service and product selection for the communities we serve, by empowering our family of associates to always make it right for every customer, every time.”
