Ritz Carlton Displays Gingerbread Houses In Advance of Dec. 4 Auction - Vote for Your Favorite!
Starting this afternoon through Saturday, the Ritz Carlton will display homemade gingerbread houses that will be auctioned off on Dec. 4. Funds will benefit low income families seeking assistance at Coastside Children's Programs.
This week, the is displaying homemade gingerbread houses entered in ' 7th annual Gingerbread House Contest.
Over 20 houses will be on display. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorites throughout the week in three categories: children, home cooks, and professionals. The winners will be crowned the "People's Choice."
Coastside Children's Programs (CCP) is a nonprofit organization that provides two pre-school and three school-aged child care programs across the Coastside. Each program has prepared a gingerbread house for the contest. Student group entries so far include a miniature replica of the Ritz Carlton, as well as Half Moon Bay's driving range.

Entries will be auctioned off Saturday, Dec. 4 and will take place in conjunction with the Ritz Carlton's Tree Lighting Ceremony. The three-hour event will start at 4:30 p.m.
Proceeds will go towards scholarships for low income families pursuing after-school care for their elementary-age school children, or a pre-school education, with Coastside Children's Programs.

"At some of our programs, nearly half of the families need financial support in order to continue working and have care of their children. The dollars raised go toward providing care for these children in a safe, happy, and enriching environment," said Agnes Chan, CCP's Executive Director.
