Chabot Sizzles At Modesto Meet

Gladiators show elite speed, depth in March 6 track and field invite

The Chabot men’s track and field team showed elite quality and depth in the Jack Albiani Invitational at Modesto Junior College on March 6.

In the 100 meters, Chabot runners placed first, third and fourth. Jamal Perry led the way with the No. 2 mark in the 3C2A of 10.42 seconds, an A Standard. Freshman Christian Hauge was third (10.52, A Standard). Levi Harte finished fourth (10.67), just outside the A Standard.

The guys also were first and second in the 200. Perry blazed to a 21.46 win, just ahead of Christian Hauge (21.47), both A Standard marks.

Cameron Jones was first in the triple jump with a mark of 48 feet, 2.5 inches, No. 2 in the 3C2A. Harte also won the men's long jump title (23-5.5), earning the top spot in the state and an A Standard.

On the women’s side, Chabot’s Nyarah Anderson-Brown was a double-winner in the 100 (11.93, No. 3 in 3C2A) and 200 (24.25, No. 1 in 3C2A).

Freshman Haley Perez competed in the Golden Gate Track Festival in San Francisco on March 6. She broke into the 3C2A Top 10 in the 800 with a time of 2:21.20, finishing sixth overall.
