• Fil-Bay Import, Inc. - 734615 - 07/20/2026 (fda.gov) — A Hayward-based food importer on Breaker Circle has received a formal FDA warning for failing to meet federal foreign supplier verification rules for many imported snacks and canned products. The agency says Fil-Bay Import must quickly document safety controls or risk having its foods detained at the border, which could affect availability of some specialty items in local stores.
   

• September 30, 2026 (sanfranciscopost.com) — Skydio has doubled both its manufacturing space and workforce at its Hayward drone facility, immediately boosting local jobs and industrial activity. The company is already operating in this expanded space while also searching for an even larger Bay Area site, reinforcing Hayward's growing role in the region's technology and advanced manufacturing economy.
   

• Robotaxi Firms Lease Nearly 1M SF of Industrial Space in 2026 (credaily.com) — Hayward is emerging as a key hub in the growing robotaxi industry, with Zoox leasing a 34,000-square-foot vehicle staging site near its large local manufacturing facility. A broader national leasing surge shows companies racing to secure industrial space for charging, cleaning, and repairing autonomous fleets, even in cities where robotaxis aren't yet allowed on the streets.
