The big kicks keep coming for the Chabot women’s soccer team early in the season.
Chabot blanked Siskiyous 3-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 9 courtesy of a big second half to improve to 3-0 under head coach Dan Chubbock.
The strong finish followed a rare win for the program over Diablo Valley College, 5-1, on Sept. 5.
The Glads took control in the second half against Siskiyous after an early penalty was awarded for a handball. Kiana Ayllon converted calmly to the keeper’s right in the 46th minute. Abigail Lopez upped the lead in the 55th minute, assisted by Alekxa Gonzalez-Serrano. Ayllon rounded out the scoring in the 90th minute.
“The second goal came from a through ball from Gonzalez-Serrano and a nice finish from A. Lopez,” Chubbock said. “Kiana wrapped up the win on a counter attack in the final seconds after winning the ball in the middle.”

Against DVC, after going down a goal down early and soaking up some pressure, the Glads got a well-deserved goal on a first-time effort from defender Wendy Son-Garcia.
“Believing we could get more than a draw, we came out firing in the second half and got two quick goals from Kiana to gave us the opportunity” Chubbock said. “Some really great link-up play between her and Abi Lopez, as well as the team’s determination and overall physicality made it a really tough game for DVC.”
Chubbock added that he was “really happy with the performance and seeing the hard work on the training pitch pay off.”
